Duties and Responsibilities Monitor the delivery of personal care provided by assigned Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) staff to ensure timely, appropriate, and resident-centered services. Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned CNA staff to ensure care is delivered in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and established standards, and that a clean and safe environment is maintained. In the absence of the Unit Manager or RN Supervisor, assign duties and coordinate CNA staffing as needed. Assist with and/or prepare nursing staff schedules in the absence of a Registered Nurse. Provide direct resident care, including but not limited to medication administration, treatments, and nursing rehabilitation programs, in accordance with physician orders and individualized plans of care. Complete medical records, charting, and resident and unit reports accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with nursing staff, interdisciplinary departments, physicians, and consultants. Maintain open communication with residents, families, and/or legal representatives to identify needs, address concerns, and communicate changes in resident condition to the appropriate parties. Assist physicians during routine and emergency resident visits and promptly report any changes in resident condition. Participate in resident care planning and assist the Registered Nurse with care plan development and implementation as required. Attend unit staff meetings and conferences; consult with supervisory staff regarding concerns or quality-of-care issues and participate in corrective actions as assigned. Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. Cooperate with and participate in surveys and inspections conducted by regulatory and governmental agencies. Participate in nursing staff orientation and training programs. Attend all mandatory meetings and required in-service education programs. Professional Development Maintain professional competence and promote ongoing growth by participating in in-service education, continuing education programs, and seminars.
