A talent acquisition caregiver will provide more details into the sign on bonus during the interview process.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Assists in patient assessment according to standard procedure and needs of patient and their families.
2. Administers medications, performs treatment therapies, and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.
3. Assists in implementation and evaluation of care plan including long and short-term goals, nursing actions and teaching.
4. Documents patient care according to standard procedure. Records and reports observed. symptoms, reactions, treatments and changes in patient condition to L.I.P. and or R.N. and assists in analyzing and interpreting patient data.
5. Assists physician with treatments, procedures, and special tests as required or directed. Collaborate with other health care providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
6. Completes hospital admission and Emergency Room transfer process.
7. Maintains a safe environment.
8. Complies with UMMHC Infection Control Policies.

Core Competencies:
1. Under the direction of a L.I.P. and or R.N., performs clinical or telephonic triage, identifies patient needs, implements recommended interventions and coordinates patient care
2. Cares for patients with peripheral access devices
3. Completes Basic Life Support (BLS) education every two years
III. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Completion of an accredited school of practical nursing program.
2. Current Massachusetts licensure required.
3. Completes Basic Life Support (BLS) education every two years.
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.
2. Strong interpersonal skills are required to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients.
3. Ability to take direction from a patient or provider, adjusts equipment, observe and describe patient observations.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
