As a Lumber Yard Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our customers, ensuring the efficient operation of the yard, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Safely operate a forklift to load and unload materials from trucks.
- Stock and straighten lumber and other materials in the yard and inventory area.
- Install pricing labels and ensure accurate pricing throughout the yard.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the yard, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of building materials to assist customers effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support overall yard operations.
- Lift and carry materials weighing over 80 lbs regularly.
- Follow instructions and use common sense to carry out tasks efficiently.
- Deliver various products and materials to customers.
Requirements:
- Experience or knowledge in working with building materials is preferred.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Physical condition to lift and carry heavy materials on a regular basis.
- Friendly and approachable demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, to accommodate business needs.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug testing.
