Machine Shop Hand Cardinal Staffing is seeking a mechanically inclined and detail-oriented Machine Shop Hand to join our team. This is a hands-on role focused on hydraulic cylinder repair, disassembly, inspection, and rebuilding. The ideal candidate enjoys working with mechanical systems, troubleshooting equipment, and performing hands-on shop work. This position also offers on-the-job training, allowing the right individual to develop skills in shaft polishing, machining, honing, and hydraulic component repair. Shift: 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday Pay: $24 an hour Key Responsibilities Polish hydraulic shafts and components. Disassemble hydraulic cylinders and related components using proper tools and procedures. Inspect cylinder parts such as barrels, rods, pistons, glands, and seals for wear or damage. Measure and identify components using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools. Assist with repair, rebuilding, and reassembly of hydraulic cylinders. Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used. Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards). Learn additional machining and repair skills through hands-on training with experienced technicians. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills. Experience with hydraulic systems, fluid power components, or mechanical repair preferred but not required. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or repair specifications. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, torque specifications, and sealing components. Experience using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers preferred. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods. Willingness to learn and develop new mechanical skills. Work Environment Industrial machine shop environment. Exposure to hydraulic fluid, cleaning agents, and industrial equipment. Fast-paced shop focused on quality, safety, and productivity.
