We serve the General Aviation and Aerospace markets with PMA engineered products. We are on a continuous growth plan and seek a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead Machine Shop Production, Continuous Improvement and Planning. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Machine Shop Supervisor functions as the leader and catalyst for driving and implementing exceptional operational excellence. Responsibilities Manage a team of up to 3-5 employees Organize, plan and oversee day-to-day shop floor operations, delegating to machinists and operators Ensure maximum efficiency and productivity while minimizing delays Oversee a ~5,000 square foot shop with 5 CNC Haas lathes and 1 Mazak Multiplex Schedule, track progress, budget and forecast Drive safety programs on the operational side Ensure training standards for shop personnel in equipment and software use Ensure proper ordering of materials, parts, supplies, and services for work projects Workforce management including performance management and problem resolution Streamline processes to minimize costs, reduce errors and meet deadlines Requirements Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written Ability to lead, manage and motivate employees in a production environment Ability to lead critical change management initiatives Analytical ability to research problem areas and special requests Well-organized, detail-oriented self-starter Ability to read and comprehend work specifications, work orders, blueprints, contracts and technical publications Education & Experience Minimum ten (10) years of experience in heavy industry and manufacturing Minimum five (5) years of experience in a supervisory capacity Experience with production procedures and administrative procedures with a background in continuous process improvement Experience with all department operations, including machinery and tools Work Schedule Full-time, Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm Additional skills (helpful but not required) OSHA machine safety knowledge General aviation experience and understanding of aircraft systems Note: APS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
