Machinist Apply
Duties
- The basic function of the machinist is to be able to be read a blueprint or sketch and then operate and/or program manual and CNC machines such as a lathe, mill, grinder, band saw, etc. in order to machine parts to print specifications. Basic machining knowledge is required, as is the ability to interpret, edit, and create g-code programs for lathes and vertical machine centers. In some cases, you will have only a sample part with no blueprint to be measured and duplicated. The tool room machinist will also assist in troubleshooting problems with fixtures and/or hydraulic clamping systems tooling in production CNC machines to help resolve problems that operators face such as bad part quality, load unload issues, etc.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints accurately.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
