Job Details: Operate various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies. Louis Allis is growing! We are currently looking for an experienced machinist to join our team. Job Type: Full-time. Responsibilities: Set up and operate various machine tools to repair and manufacture mechanical assemblies. (Lathes, Horizontal Mill, Vertical Mill, Drill, Press). Manufacture new parts from prints or samples. Use hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools, including but not limited to band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, files, etc. Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to ensure proper sizing. Turn and undercut commutators. Lift, tighten, adjust, and or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and/or to observe safety precautions. Observe all safety procedures. Assist other machinists in the department with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the lead person, shop supervisor, and/or plant manager. Maintained housekeeping in the assigned area. Routinely clean the machines you are working on and the areas in which you are working to minimize debris and unnecessary buildup of excess materials that could create operational and safety hazards. Understand machine lubrication, maintenance, and proper operation. Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the lead person, shop supervisor, and/or plant manager. Qualifications: Trade School Education. Must be able to read and properly execute machined and fabricated parts off of drawings/blueprints. Must be able to hold to strict tolerance and maintain a high level of attention to detail. Must always wear personal protective equipment while at work, including but not limited to; safety glasses and steel-toe boots. Must provide own tools and toolbox. Minimum two years' experience in a shop environment required.
