Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacy technician role is available in Clearwater, FL, on a 13-week contract basis. This position focuses primarily on retail pharmacy operations, making it ideal for candidates with prior retail experience rather than hospital settings. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with the start date ASAP or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks post-offer clearance.

Location:

  • Clearwater, FL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and fill prescriptions with accuracy
  • Handle insurance adjudications and resolve claim rejections
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification
  • Perform data entry and manage prescription paperwork
  • Communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration monitoring
  • Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction procedures
  • Support cross-training and other pharmacy department tasks as needed
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; verify highest education level during phone screening
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB certification highly preferred)
  • Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, with retail background preferred
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications and making phone calls regularly
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, providers, and colleagues
