CTG is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong COBOL development and mainframe modernization expertise to support enterprise application development, modernization, and integration initiatives. This role involves working with legacy mainframe systems while helping drive modernization and cloud migration strategies in a complex enterprise environment. Location: Atlanta, GA Duration: 12 months Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS. Support batch processing, job scheduling, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning activities. Participate in mainframe modernization and cloud migration initiatives, including z-cloud and hybrid cloud environments. Integrate legacy applications with modern technologies including APIs, JSON, microservices, Java, WebSphere, and MQ. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions. Support DevOps practices, application modernization strategies, and enterprise integration efforts. Required Skills Strong COBOL, JCL, and mainframe utilities experience. Hands‑on experience with DB2, VSAM, and CICS. Knowledge of batch processing and scheduling tools. Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Understanding of mainframe modernization and legacy system integration. Exposure to APIs, JSON, microservices, Java, Kubernetes, DevOps, WebSphere, and MQ. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills. Preferred Experience Experience supporting enterprise modernization or migration projects. Familiarity with cloud‑based or hybrid mainframe environments. Agile development experience preferred. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
