Description


CTG is seeking to fill a Mainframe Systems Programmer opening for our client in New York, NY.


Location: New York, NY (Hybrid remote, should be able to be on-site few days a week)


Duration: 2 years


Duties:


  • Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.,) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services.




  • Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.




  • The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.




Skills:


  • The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.




  • 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.




  • Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.




  • Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.




  • Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation.




  • Excellent communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.




  • The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.




Education:



  • Bachelors degree or 10+ years of experience in relevant technical field is required.


Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
