Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe/WebSphere Engineer to support our client in Eagan, MN, with potential for remote work. This role involves managing and troubleshooting complex technical issues in a WebSphere and mainframe environment, requiring a solid understanding of WebSphere, networking, security, and Java technologies. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Position Info:

  • Title: Mainframe / WebSphere Engineer
  • Client: Peraton
  • Duration: 10 Months
  • Location: 2825 Lone Oak Pkwy, Eagan, MN 55121
  • Work Mode: Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administration and environment management for WebSphere and Apache servers on z/OS.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with security and system teams to enhance WebSphere security and mainframe user access.
  • Execute performance tuning for Java Batch workloads on WebSphere Application Server.
  • Design infrastructure from development through production, and apply WebSphere Application Server updates.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (9 years preferred; 14 years without degree).
  • Proficiency in WebSphere, Apache, IBM MQ, and related server technologies on z/OS.
  • Experience in security management with RACF and SSL, SAF Keyrings, and hardware cryptography.
  • Strong skills in UNIX shell scripting, Java Platform (J2EE), HTML5, JavaScript, XML, and SOAP.
  • Knowledge of server monitoring tools such as IBM QRADAR and Splunk.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder) with residency in the U.S. for the last five years.
