As a full-service Marriott property, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the highest standards of quality. We are seeking a dedicated Hotel Maintenance Engineer to help ensure our hotel operates smoothly and efficiently.

Job Summary:

The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality and appearance of the hotel’s physical structure and systems. This includes performing preventative maintenance, responding to maintenance requests, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.

• Troubleshoot and address issues promptly, including guestroom maintenance, public areas, and back-of-house systems.

Preventative Maintenance

• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the hotel’s facilities and systems are functioning efficiently.

• Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.

• Adhere to hotel policies and Marriott standards for safety and security.

• Respond quickly to emergencies, such as leaks, power outages, or equipment failures, to minimize disruption to guests.

Guest Interaction

• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with guests during maintenance calls.

• Ensure minimal impact on guests during maintenance activities.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance schedules.

• Report major repair needs or equipment malfunctions to the Chief Engineer.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Previous experience in building maintenance, engineering, or a related field. Hospitality experience is a plus.

Skills:

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

• Basic carpentry, painting, and general repair skills.

• Familiarity with safety codes and regulations.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical activities such as climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working in tight spaces.
