Job Title: Engineering Maintenance ManagerDepartment: Maintenance/EngineeringLocation: Dayton, OHReports To: Plant Manager/Operations ManagerJob DescriptionThe Engineering Maintenance Manager will lead and manage the maintenance and engineering operations of a high-speed plastics/packaging manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all production equipment and systems. The successful candidate will oversee the maintenance team, manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support the plant’s operational goals.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance OperationsPlan, coordinate, and supervise all maintenance activities, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for high-speed manufacturing equipment.Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.Develop and maintain equipment reliability programs, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory standards, company policies, and safety procedures.Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.Manage scheduling, workload distribution, and performance evaluations of the maintenance team.Provide technical training to staff to enhance skill levels and operational efficiency.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve equipment performance and production processes through innovation and upgrades.Collaborate with the production and quality teams to ensure seamless operations and address equipment-related quality issues.Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives.Project ManagementManage capital projects, including the installation of new equipment, upgrades, and plant modifications.Develop project budgets, timelines, and resource requirements, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers as needed.Budget ManagementPrepare and manage the maintenance department budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance and equipment efficiency.Qualifications and SkillsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in maintenance or engineering roles, preferably in a high-speed plastics/packaging manufacturing environment.At least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role within maintenance/engineering.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of high-speed manufacturing equipment, robotics, automation systems, and utilities (e.g., HVAC, compressors).Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM methodologies.Experience with regulatory compliance, including OSHA, ISO, and GMP standards.Soft SkillsStrong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and project management skills.Working ConditionsFast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.Availability for on-call support and flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.To Apply:Submit your resume and cover letter to
