Position Summary: The Maintenance Manager II is responsible for all plant maintenance including facilities, utilities, and operations to reduce downtime and ensure peak plant efficiencies. This position will work closely with the Maintenance Manager I to oversee the maintenance team and their performance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and operates within established maintenance operating budget and monitors departmental expenditures.
  • Assists with planning and cost estimates for annual and longer-term capital budgets. Responsible for executing the capital plan to include all engineering designs and leads the project, working with both internal and external resources.
  • Directs all aspects of building operations including maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
  • Establishes criteria for assessing the quality of work performed by employees and contractors.
  • Supervises the completion of work through review of reports, frequent site inspections and conferences with operations and vendors regarding electrical & plumbing equipment, HVAC systems, electric motors, ventilating fans, air conditioning and electrical control units.
  • Investigates the condition of buildings, equipment and grounds, and recommends improvements in the facilities to ensure that needs are met.
  • Broad knowledge & experience in project management & facilities administration with demonstrated ability to manage projects and personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Interviews, hires, and trains new employees.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance feedback.
  • Reviews and approved timecards properly.
  • Partners with safety to promote a positive safety culture
  • Works with Human Resources to handle employee discipline in accordance with company policy.

Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superb time management and project scheduling skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel within a 70-mile radius (Lost Hills & Firebaugh)
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent administrative and follow-up skills to achieve successful maintenance and repair programs.
  • Skilled in electricity, electronics, computers, PLCs, fluid mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, boilers, refrigeration, preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems.

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 6 10 years' experience within a maintenance department in a food

processing/manufacturing environment.

  • Comprehensive information on construction processes, trade practices, standards, building codes & regulations.
  • Be acquainted with FDA/FSMA/CDPH (food safety) requirements and auditing standards and ensure compliance in all aspects of the maintenance department.
  • Be acquainted with environmental regulations and ensure compliance with all operational permits
  • Prior experience with Statistical Process Control, project implementation, and project management.
  • Must have a proven track record of successfully managing the construction of large, complex projects
