Maintenance Manager at Groot Hospitality Overview We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all building-related activities. They will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring that facilities are safe and well-functioning. Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, you will manage maintenance and repair of physical structures and operating equipment in a timely, cost‑efficient manner. You will also coordinate construction vendors for remodeling, maintenance, and repair across plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, electrical systems, janitorial services, and general grounds. The ideal candidate will be well‑organized, optimize space and equipment usage, reduce operating costs, and maintain a high level of care and efficiency. The goal is to keep our facilities problem‑free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions. Responsibilities Works directly with the Director of Operations and external contractor/vendor partners to execute FOH & BOH restaurant construction. Performs equipment repair vs. replacement analysis and recommends the most cost effective, efficient, and expeditious solution. Conducts weekly visits (or more frequently as needed) to each unit within the area of responsibility to perform walk‑throughs with the GM to proactively identify maintenance issues. Documents and reports findings, addresses maintenance concerns not previously corrected. Conducts facility training days with GMs in their respective areas. Follows up on preventive maintenance activities. Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs for all major systems in the restaurant; coordinates program specifications, requirements for proposals, contracts, and associated documents. Maintains integrity of all vendor documents, including Certificates of Insurance and Licenses. Acts as the single point of contact for all facility issues experienced in their assigned restaurants that are not handled routinely through the work order management system. Maintains and monitors the work order management system daily; identifies areas lacking qualified vendors and solicits and qualifies new vendors for all major trades. Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facility equipment repair, and preventive maintenance. Manages the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards. Reviews utility consumption and strives to minimize costs. Supervises all facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers, etc.) and external contractors. Controls activities such as waste disposal, building security, etc. Requirements Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a relevant position. Well‑versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices. Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Resourceful/critical thinking. Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFM) is an advantage. Location & Compensation Coral Gables, FL – $90,000.00–$130,000.00 (latest posting). Hollywood, FL – $55,000.00–$60,000.00. Miami, FL – $60,000.00–$70,000.00. Miami – $48,000.00–$55,000.00. Hollywood – $180,000.00–$250,000.00. (All salaries are approximate and for reference).
