We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations at our pulp and lumber manufacturing facility in the Greater Mobile, Alabama area. This role is responsible for leading a team of skilled technicians and ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, preventive maintenance systems, and capital improvement projects in a high-volume, wood-products environment.REQUIRED:Must have experience in a similar capacity within a pulp and/or lumber manufacturing environment. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all maintenance personnel, including mechanics, electricians, and millwrights.Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment lifespan.Coordinate maintenance schedules with production leadership to minimize operational disruptions.Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.Manage parts inventory, maintenance budget, and vendor relationships.Lead capital improvement and reliability projects, including equipment upgrades and facility enhancements.Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA and company standards.Maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and ensure work orders are tracked accurately.Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff to promote skill development and high performance.Collaborate with engineering, safety, and operations teams on process improvement initiatives.Monitor KPIs such as equipment uptime, maintenance cost per unit, and MTTR/MTBF metrics.QualificationsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting; pulp, paper, lumber, or wood products industry preferred.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.Experience with CMMS platforms and maintenance planning tools.Proven ability to manage teams and drive continuous improvement.Solid understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, etc.).Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
