MAINTENANCE MANAGERSummary Description:Responsible for management of the maintenance department to ensure maximum utilization of maintenance employees to keep the plant running efficiently and minimizing equipment downtime and facility issues.Essential Functions:DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT:Direct, maintain and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department; review safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all employeesResponsible for maintaining the safe operation of all equipment and building infrastructureMaintain maintenance budget and capital monies balancing the cost with equipment repair needsResponsible for ensuring equipment is maintained to comply with all environmental and health and safety requirements of the city, county, state and federalResponsible for the management, supervision and development of the maintenance departmentEnsure regulatory compliance with NFPA-70E (Arc Flash) for all maintenance activities within the CompanyConduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of the maintenance techniciansAssist in the hiring of maintenance personnelAssist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansionsImplement programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness and accompanying 6S levelsTrack, analyze and improve key maintenance performances indices including asset utilization, up time, PM compliance, etc.Prepare reports, analyze data and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problemsTRAINING:Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that the maintenance program can be achieved in a safe, timely and cost-effective mannerProvide technical training and guidance for maintenance, supervisors and employees on equipmentMaintain and update all operational, LO/TO and training manuals and procedures; ensure that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most current version of all operational and LO/TO policies and proceduresParticipate in training and development programs including all areas of environmental, health and safety issues, especially those dealing with proper handling of hazardous materials and hazardous wasteCOMMUNICATION:Communicate regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication for maintenance issuesDevelop and maintain a working relationship with all departments and management insuring an ongoing connection with production teams; coordinate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in production areasPLANNING/ORGANIZING:Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders and maintenance history on plant equipmentSelect and manage contractors and vendors as requiredInitiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costsMonitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment and initiate the re-ordering when necessaryTPM:Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate problems, and identify opportunities for improvementResponsible for ensuring preventive maintenance work orders are done on a timely basis and all PMs are returned to be entered into the CMMS maintenance systemManage systems and foster an environment of continuous improvement to maximize operational availabilityEngage department to follow health and safety practices as they apply to department and the facility to drive a strong safety culture continuously reducing injury ratesAbility to assist with problem solving and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and increase uptimePerform any and all other job-related tasks as assignedSkills or Experience Required:Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Art Degree recommendedTraining pertaining to mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems Ten (10) years experience demonstrating the ability to lead in the maintenance environment. Responsible for learning all equipment which requires a strong mechanical and electrical background. Must have excellent computer skills to include, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS maintenance program. Must have proven technical aptitude for chemical processes, electrical and mechanical equipment. Must be highly motivated individual with good written communication and presentations skills. Must possess proven leadership skills with the ability to identify and develop the talents of maintenance personnel.
