A leading plastics materials manufacturer based in South Carolina, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee plant maintenance operations. The company is known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement in compounding and color formulation.

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for directing all maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position oversees a skilled maintenance team and supports production goals through effective preventive maintenance programs, process reliability, and equipment optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and supervise maintenance technicians to support 24/7 plant operations.

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain extrusion, blending, mixing, and compounding equipment as well as facility systems.

  • Oversee maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and contractor/vendor relationships.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, ISO, etc.).

  • Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality to support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage installation, modification, and upgrading of plant equipment and utilities.

  • Drive reliability, safety, and efficiency through 5S and Lean maintenance practices.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred (or equivalent technical experience).

  • Minimum 5 7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or plastics compounding environment.

  • Proven leadership in managing maintenance teams and improving plant reliability.

  • Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Experience with extrusion or compounding equipment strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation systems a plus.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
