Who You'll Report To: Director of Engineering

About The Role:

Are you someone who loves keeping things running smoothly? As our Maintenance Manager, you'll be the mastermind behind the maintenance and housekeeping of our plant and all its equipment. You'll be teaming up with the Manufacturing Manager to make sure everything is top-notch and works like a charm.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and inspire your team, scheduling and evaluating their performance to ensure everything is shipshape.
  • Take charge of both regular and special preventative maintenance programs, planning and supervising their implementation.
  • Manage inventory like a pro, ensuring we have an economical and adequate supply of repair parts and maintenance consumables.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues, deciding whether to handle them in-house or call in the pros.
  • Maintain and coordinate overtime and maintenance rosters, ensuring that all support personnel are where they need to be.
  • Keep a close eye on budgets, monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed.
  • Take decisive action by shutting down equipment if repairs are urgently needed to prevent major damage.
  • Join forces with the Plant Safety Committee, contributing your insights and expertise.
  • Prepare and justify major maintenance purchases, ensuring we're always well-equipped.
  • Analyze and project costs for the annual operating budget, recommending staffing levels to meet the workload.
  • Coordinate work with outside contractors when necessary to maintain our plant equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Union contracts and company policies, maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Assist in preparing operating budgets and work towards efficiency and improvement goals.
  • Regularly report on performance and forecast future needs, proposing action plans for any issues that arise.
