About the job

The Engineering and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing, directing, and leading the maintenance team and the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department. This position is also responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.


Essential Job Duties

  • Sets overall maintenance department goals, processes or procedures to accomplish company objectives.
  • Business sense to discern and prioritize maintenance activities for the greatest near- and long-term returns.
  • Outstanding management and communication skills with the ability to multitask and delegate work effectively.
  • Ability to motivate the maintenance team to internalize the mission and vision of the organization.
  • Exceptional management and team-building skills to develop maintenance personnel into a best-in-class team.
  • Flexibility to work as both a player and coach, leading by example.
  • Familiar with a variety of food processing equipment and systems.
  • Ability to implement policies and procedures for continuous improvement, growth and future projects.
  • Ability to make repairs, line changes and assist with equipment installation.
  • Capable of performing preventive and proactive maintenance.
  • Repair mechanical equipment including pumps, gear reducers, seals, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and conveyors.
  • Complete work documents to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Understand, follow and implement all safety related standards and practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree - preferred.
  • 20+ years maintenance management experience, food production preferred.
  • Industrial manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Technical certification or degree preferred.
  • Strong preference for experience with electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience in Auto CAD, Allen Bradley logic.
  • Overtime and weekend schedules may be required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
