*Grillo's Pickles is looking for an experienced and driven Technical Leader to join their greenfield plant start-up team to lead and oversee the build out of their maintenance department! *SUMMARYThe Maintenance Manager will provide leadership, management and technical support for all maintenance personnel and activities related to facility and equipment operations. This role will also include achieving site performance for uptime, equipment reliability, overall equipment efficiency and facilities maintenance. This position reports into the Plant Director.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead, maintain, and develop maintenance personnel and processes to sustain plant operations, equipment reliability, facilities maintenance, and controls engineering.Plan, organize, and direct monthly, weekly, daily maintenance activities to meet manufacturing requirements while controlling labor and material costs.Foster a positive culture throughout the maintenance department that aligns with Grillo’s Values.Develop and execute a comprehensive preventative maintenance program that sustains a safe working environment, maximizes facility and equipment uptime, and reduces waste and repair costs.Collaborate with leadership team on development of storeroom for spare parts and determine process to maintain storeroom.Collaborate across departments to ensure equipment readiness to support plant operations and deconflict maintenance activities to minimize impact to other functions.Collaborate with the purchasing work center for timely ordering of repair parts.Escalate through management channels on facility and equipment failures/degradations, and safety incidents and collaborate on plans and actions to minimize impact to the business.Monitor departmental operations and conduct employee performance management through appropriate coaching, training, and corrective action.Collect and analyze data to track and report on key performance indicators, identify and correct deviations from standards, and drive improvement activities and projects.Establish departmental policies and procedures to ensure continuous operations, proactive maintenance and timely problem resolution.Ensure maintenance activities adhere with all safety and quality requirements.Support new product development activities (labor, equipment readiness, expertise), identify mechanical requirements, and collaborate with innovation, quality, and production leaders for a smooth transition into normal operations.Coordinate with 3rd party vendors/contractors for external maintenance services and bidding out projects.Participate in annual capital planning cycle, scoping equipment solutions and cost saving opportunities.Support or lead organizational initiatives as directed by the Plant Director or Senior Leadership Team.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.5+ years of maintenance leadership experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems required.Hands-on leadership, able to directly support facility and equipment troubleshooting efforts.Experience managing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program a must.Able to collect, analyze, and present data to solve problems and drive improvements.Strong knowledge of quality and safety systems/standards.Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS, etc.).Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, taste, or smell. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 - 25 pounds, and occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance from co-workers and/or mechanic devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee will be handling items that may be very hot. The noise level is usually moderate.
