Position Summary
The Manager of Maintenance & Reliability leads a team responsible for maximizing equipment uptime and performance within a high-volume distribution environment. This role focuses on driving reliability initiatives, reducing downtime, and improving overall equipment effectiveness through structured maintenance strategies and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Reliability & Performance
- Develop and execute maintenance and reliability strategies to improve equipment uptime and lifespan
- Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring adherence to schedules and standards
- Implement reliability-centered maintenance practices, including PM optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for equipment support, training, and parts procurement
Reliability Engineering
- Analyze equipment data to identify trends and drive performance improvements
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
- Perform FMEA to identify failure points and mitigate risk
- Stay current on industry best practices and emerging technologies
Reporting & Metrics
- Track and report key performance indicators including OEE, uptime, and technician utilization
- Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment performance records
- Provide regular updates to leadership on performance, issues, and improvements
Continuous Improvement
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to enhance system performance
- Identify and implement predictive and data-driven maintenance opportunities
- Align maintenance priorities with overall business and operational goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or a related function
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of automated systems, controls, and maintenance best practices
- CMRP or ASQ CRE certification preferred
Work Environment
- Primarily onsite role requiring regular presence in a distribution center setting
- Combination of desk-based work and hands-on involvement with equipment and operation
