Maintenance MechanicPay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hourJob description:OverviewAs a Multi-craft Maintenance Mechanic, you will assist mechanics for the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. You will support the Operation Maintenance team by planning solutions for difficult problems, coordinating projects, and maintaining preventive maintenance in our packing houses. The ability to perform work safely, meet the needs of operations, and comply with all safety codes. The Multi-craft Maintenance Mechanic must fully identify, troubleshoot, and repair advanced/complex problems in all areas of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC/refrigeration, and mechanical issues as needed.Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains lubrication of all equipment machineryUnderstands and follows manufacture's specifications for equipment operations and repairsCompetency with hand tools, power tools, welding, and machine shop equipmentWorks scheduled shift and extended hours as requiredCompletes assigned weekly preventative maintenance and planned work ordersRegular attendance is an essential function of this position.Support planning for new facilities projects construction, renovation, and infrastructure upgrades.Maintaining and operating all HVAC/refrigeration systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, building management systems, and building repairs.Supporting and participating in facility projects during concept, design, and construction for renovations line relocation/removal, and new construction.Complying with all safety procedures and requirements.Ensuring compliance to lease obligations and city, county, and state ordinances and codes.Supporting any after-hours building needs and activities as required.Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required in adverse weather conditions.Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encodersTroubleshoot PLC programs, components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices), field buses (ASI, Profibus, DeviceNet, etc.), and communications modules (Ethernet).Troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials, up to 480VFollow appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazardsMust be able to repair and modify equipment using MIG, TIG, & Stick Weld skillsetQualificationsProven experience in appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration maintenance, or related service technician roles.Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.Hands-on experience with HVAC systems-including air conditioning-and refrigeration equipment is highly desirable.Knowledge of construction practices related to equipment installation or system upgrades.Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently using diagnostic tools and schematics.Leadership qualities that enable effective team coordination during maintenance projects.Excellent communication skills to document work accurately and collaborate with team members effectively.
