Maintenance Operator – Electrical – Maintenance (2026-2027) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Minimum Salary: $63,005 / Days: 248 Primary Purpose: To help maintain the schools in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times. Qualifications Education/Certification: High School Diploma; Fire, Electric, or HVAC license; Driving record that meets the requirements of the district’s insurance carrier. Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to calculate, organize and determine needs for a job with limited information. Ability to use digital multi‑meter. Ability to troubleshoot problems. Basic computer knowledge. Proficient knowledge of fire alarm, electrical, and HVAC systems. Major Responsibilities and Duties Maintenance and Repair: Install and maintain fire alarms, electrical systems, and HVAC systems. Perform any combination of measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit, using ruler and hand tools. Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects. Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order. Ensure that all Facilities Fire Alarm systems receive an annual inspection. Remain on call for district identified emergency situations. Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis. Safety Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor. Communication: Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with employees. Equipment Used Hand tools, power tools Working Conditions Mental Demands: Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions. Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel. Ability to meet deadlines and alter work priorities. Physical Demands: Frequent driving of vehicles. Continuous working with machinery. Continuous walking. Limited sitting. Continuous pulling, lifting, carrying and dragging. Continuous squatting. Frequent stooping. Frequent crawling. Frequent working on knees. Frequent bending. Sensory Requirements Significant hearing. Near vision. Far vision. Peripheral vision. Color discrimination. Depth perception. Exposure to Temperature extremes. Fumes. Dust. Solvents. Toxic chemicals/materials. Noise. High voltage.
