About you and this role Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Planner in Hahnville, LA . As the Maintenance Planner, you will create job packages from the work order scope which contains all of the information regarding required labor, material and services to ensure safe, effective and efficient execution of the work. This role requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. You may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience. Responsibilities Uses feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans. Carries out field checks and field visits, when needed to complete job plans. Identifies task activities necessary to execute job plan and identifies materials/tools/equipment required to perform tasks. Identifies/solicits safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks. Supports Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by ensuring all job packages include a procedure or the task is on the Procedure Exemption list before the job package is released. Checks that all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment. Serves as a technical resource during procedure creation and review, as needed. Creates, develops, changes, updates job procedures and checklists, and initiates procedure Management of Change (MOC), as required. Prepare job packet in SAP to include Labor, tools, equipment, materials, and services needed to complete the job. Identify task activities necessary to execute job plan. Record tasks and information within the work order. Make cost a consideration in planning. Work injury and accident free. Complete all required training for department, the discipline, and St. Charles Operations. Required Qualifications A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. 2 or more years of industrial maintenance experience. Able to pass pre-employment testing, drug screening, and background check. Able to work in a smoke-free and drug-free work environment. Current, valid US driver's license. Proficiency in SAP. Overtime and call-outs will be required after-hours (nights, weekends and holidays), depending on work to be done. Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. Physical Requirements Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations: Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting Stand 50% of the time Walk for extended periods of time Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders Work in tight and closed spaces Wear all required personal protective equipment, including respirator Work in an area of intense or continuous noise Work in an area with hazardous materials Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a Planner role Previous experience working in a chemical plant production facility Mechanical aptitude Maintenance or craft experience Your Skills Technical & Digital Proficiency: Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with strong overall computer skills to effectively perform job responsibilities. Communication & Interpersonal Effectiveness: Strong written, verbal, listening, and reading comprehension skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse workforce across the site. Problem Solving, Decision Making & Troubleshooting: Demonstrates sound judgment, strong troubleshooting abilities, and effective decision-making skills while appropriately prioritizing work. Organization, Time Management & Multitasking: Effectively manages multiple competing priorities with strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. Leadership, Independence & Safety Focus: Leads through influence with a strong work ethic; able to work independently with minimal supervision in an empowered team environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety. Additional Notes This is a day job utilizing an alternative work schedule (4 ten hour days – Monday to Thursday). This position does not offer relocation assistance.
