Job Description
As a Staff Senior Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and evaluating maintenance programs for specified equipment in the *** power delivery grid or transmission communication system. You will review the performance of components and associated program requirements, analyze the effectiveness of maintenance methods and procedures, and initiate maintenance program and/or design changes to address identified improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance activities for specified components.
- Develop diagnostic techniques and set standards for work performance and material stocking levels for maintenance of the specified components.
- Review the effectiveness of maintenance activities and recommend changes to improve productivity, equipment availability, and reliability.
- Develop maintenance procedures, identify work methods, and resolve technical problems identified by technicians or craft personnel.
- Observe and evaluate methods and procedures used by maintenance crews or technicians and develop new, improved preventive and corrective procedures based on applicable OSHA, ANSI, IEEE, NESC standards, and *** requirements.
- Develop, identify, and deliver technical training sessions on appropriate maintenance methods for power delivery components (from new to obsolete).
Supervisory Responsibilities
May coordinate the work of other personnel in specialized diagnostic and repair work.
Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced, contemporary knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of operation support specialties for the completion of projects of major scope.
- Experience in developing and evaluating maintenance programs for power delivery grid or transmission communication systems.
- Ability to analyze the effectiveness of maintenance methods and procedures.
- Experience in initiating maintenance program and/or design changes to address identified improvements.
- Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, IEEE, NESC standards, and *** requirements.
- Strong diagnostic and technical problem-solving skills.
- Experience in developing and delivering technical training sessions.
Education and Experience
- Relevant education and experience in maintenance and operation support specialties.
- Certificates, licenses, and registration requirements as applicable.
