Award-winning brands include Belgard® hardscape, Echelon® Masonry, MoistureShield® composite decking, RDI® railing, Catalyst™ Fence Solutions, Sakrete® packaged concrete, Amerimix® mortar, Pebble Technology International® pool finishes, Lawn & Garden mulches and landscape features, and Techniseal® sands and sealant technologies.Oldcastle APG Lawn & Garden will reimburse Maintenance Mechanic employees $250 a month ($3,000 annual limit) per year for purchase of tools.Job SummaryResponsible for overall maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Plant Manager.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist and direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipmentAssist and direct workers in the diagnosis of malfunctions in equipment and machineryStrong electrical background, PLC knowledge; 480 industrial voltage, maintenance programs, ordering parts, quotes for repairs and installation of equipment are essential qualifications necessary for this positionInspect all production equipment dailyTest malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs and assign mechanic for repairInstall, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assignedOperate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts and complete tasks as assignedWeld and use cutting torch as requiredPerform general repairs to plant structuresKeep work area in a clean and orderly conditionTest malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs and discuss with Plant Manager for approval and repairs as neededReplace faulty parts, electrical wires, motors, controls, and circuit boardsInstall equipment and electrical components and test to ensure proper functioningObserve mechanical devices and equipment and listen to sounds to determine proper functioning or identify causes of troubleDismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
