Location: Tulare, CA

Rate: $71,000- $75,000 

Schedule: Monday - Friday | Start time 4:00 PM

 

Responsibilities: 

 

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations at a pistachio processing facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of all processing equipment, including sorting machines, hulling equipment, drying systems, and packaging machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Supervise the maintenance and repair of processing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules to proactively maintain equipment and prevent failures.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor maintenance technicians, ensuring they are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, equipment manuals, and safety inspections.
  • Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the maintenance department budget, including expenditures for parts, labor, and contractors.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergencies promptly to minimize production disruptions and ensure quick resolution.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs for maintenance staff and facilitate training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure maintenance activities meet quality standards to uphold product integrity and customer satisfaction.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure maintenance activities comply with environmental regulations related to waste management and emissions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce overall maintenance costs.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with management, production staff, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritize tasks effectively.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of processing equipment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual - English & Spanish Speaking.

Benefits: At the completion of 30 days of employment you will be eligible to enroll into Horizon's Benefit Plans.

Medical (Base Plan); Employee paid at 90%, 75% for any dependent.

Dental; Employee paid 100% and 75% for dependents.

Vision paid at 100% for the employee and any dependents.

Life insurance in the amount $25,000 will be paid by Horizon at 100% for the employee.

 

Additional Benefits:

Employee will be eligible to participate in Horizon Nut L.L.C. 401(k) Retirement Program after 12 months continuous employment. The plan allows eligible employees to defer compensation up to the maximum annual deferral limit. The plan involves an employer match of 3% for the first 3% of the employee contribution, 1% of the next 2% of the employee contribution.

Section 125 Flexible Spending Plan after 30 days of employment.

Upon the completion of 90 days of employment, you will be eligible to start accruing vacation 3 hours per pay period.
