Maintenance Technician Electrician Apply
County of Blair is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Electrician to join our team, primarily responsible for performing electrical maintenance and repairs within designated County facilities. The role includes inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, and circuit systems, ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations. Essential duties include performing preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, responding to electrical service requests, planning and executing electrical upgrades, and ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel. Some other duties will include, assisting with snow removal, moving office furniture when needed, twice a year helps with the setting up and packing up voting precincts for Elections, attends meetings, trainings, seminars and conferences as required and performs all other duties assigned or required.
This position requires working collaboratively with other maintenance staff and may involve some interaction with inmates and the public. A strong understanding of electrical systems along with experience in building maintenance is vital.
Requirements
Qualified applicants will possess a high school diploma or GED; completion of an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience; a minimum of two years of experience in electrical work; knowledge of electrical codes and regulations; ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics; strong problem-solving skills; and proficiency in using electrical testing equipment. Candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, and be prepared to respond to emergency situations.
