Maintenance Technician Apply
Position Summary The Maintenance Technician maintains the Best Friends Roadhouse & Mercantile, ensuring all mechanical systems are in top condition. This hands‑on role requires excellent guest‑first customer service. Preventative maintenance planning is a requirement. The Technician works with the Roadhouse Manager to establish priorities, complete work in a timely manner, and ensure budget adherence. From time to time, the Technician contacts licensed, insured tradespeople to accomplish work at the Roadhouse. In emergencies, the Technician works with the Roadhouse Manager to decide if other Best Friends resources are required. Responsibilities You are responsible and accountable for the culture of your team. Adhere to a safety‑first approach. Demonstrate best practices in safety and the use of protective equipment. Maintain Materials Safety Data Sheets on all appropriate products. Identify problems and challenges and offer solutions to the Roadhouse Manager. Maintain tools inventory. Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment necessary to maintain the property. Perform routine maintenance and repair, such as changing light bulbs, tightening toilet seats, shoveling snow, and placing cinders, etc. Assist in cleaning up after emergencies, such as overflowing showers and toilets, broken dishes and animal accidents on floors and furniture. Assist guests with unusual needs, i.e., jump a dead battery, push a vehicle out of the mud or snow, and contacting other associates to assist. Annual re‑flushes and touch‑ups for all the Roadhouse rooms. Landscaping. Other duties as assigned by the Roadhouse Manager. Qualifications Skills and Experience: A High School Degree or equivalent. Previous building maintenance experience. Outgoing positive personality and communication skills. Attention to detail, flexible, and enjoy handling a variety of tasks. Must have a valid driver’s license and qualify for BFAS insurance. Physical Requirements Must be able to routinely lift 40 pounds or more to perform maintenance duties. Must be able to work out of doors in all weather conditions to perform maintenance duties.Must be able to perform routine strenuous physical activity on a daily basis, including walking, standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, ascending and descending ladders and other equipment, to perform maintenance duties.
