RESPONSIBILITIES: (include, but are not limited to, the following) Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all equipment as well as provides process troubleshooting as needed. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problem; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed parts. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Must be able to do minor welding, brazing and cutting torch. Be able to do minor repairs to truck, forklifts, etc. Operate Jib Cranes and Forklifts in safe manner. Wear safety equipment and obey safety rules. Be able to make minor repairs to building through the use of masonry, carpentry and/or cement work. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and other metal working tools to make and repair parts. May work in other areas throughout the plant. And / or other duties as may be assigned. Report any Food Safety Problem to senior management. Initiates purchase order requests for parts a machine. MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with frequent walking. Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain Hoists are available. Walking: Frequent walking of short distances (approx. 200 feet or less). Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 20 lbs. to 75 lbs. Crain Hoists are available. Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required to complete assembly tasks. Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
