Summary:
The Maintenance Technician (Welder) performs welding and fabrication tasks to maintain, repair, and construct production equipment in a food manufacturing facility. The role ensures machinery and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety standards.
Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification in welding techniques (AWS, ASME) preferred

Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or industrial environment (food production experience highly preferred)

Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards is a plus

Skilled in operating welding tools and equipment

Strong attention to detail and precision

Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling industrial materials
Key Responsibilities:

Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication on production equipment, conveyors, stainless steel tanks, and other metal components

Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain equipment to prevent downtime and ensure operational efficiency

Repairs: Perform timely repairs on breakdowns to minimize production interruptions

Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks to extend equipment lifespan

Safety Compliance: Follow all welding safety procedures, use PPE, and maintain a clean, safe workspace

Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of welding and maintenance work performed

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical or structural equipment issues

Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to coordinate repairs and ensure smooth operations

Material Management: Track and maintain an inventory of welding tools and materials

Continuous Improvement: Recommend process or equipment improvements for greater efficiency and safety
