Role overviewA Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing high quality breast imaging studies that support early detection and diagnosis, while ensuring a safe and compassionate patient experience. This permanent, full time position is based in Craig, Colorado, within a Radiology/Women's Health Imaging department on a day shift schedule.
Key responsibilities-
Operate mammography equipment and perform screening and diagnostic exams in line with departmental protocols and current FDA/ARRT standards.

Educate and prepare patients for imaging procedures, explain each step clearly, and address questions to reduce anxiety and promote understanding.

Document exams accurately in the EHR, maintain complete imaging records, and support correct coding and billing workflows.

Perform required quality assurance (QA) and preventative maintenance checks on mammography equipment and report any issues promptly.

Assist or cross train in additional imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, or DEXA based on departmental needs.

Adhere to all safety, infection control, and risk management policies while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.

Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other imaging professionals to support timely diagnosis and coordinated patient care.

Demonstrate flexibility by supporting call, occasional overtime, and holiday coverage as required.

Participate in ongoing performance improvement and quality initiatives within the imaging and wider clinical teams.

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program with ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M).

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within a defined onboarding period.

Strong working knowledge of mammography positioning, image quality standards, radiation safety, and breast imaging best practices.

Proficiency with electronic health record and imaging systems (e.g., PACS/RIS) for image management and reporting workflows.

Excellent communication and patient service skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

2+ years of recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist, preferably in mammography or women's imaging.

High attention to detail and consistent adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
