Manager, Business Systems Apply
PA-Duquesne 10 North Linden Street Duquesne, PA 15110, USA The Manager of Business Systems is responsible for the overall performance, enhancement, and support of the organization’s enterprise applications, including the ERP, WMS, and related business systems. This role leads a team in managing application configuration, integrations, and upgrades, while ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT strategy. The Manager partners closely with cross‑functional departments to identify system needs, implement improvements, and deliver reliable, scalable solutions that enable operational excellence. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Leads the planning, development, and maintenance of enterprise software applications, including ERP, WMS, and supporting systems. Oversees the evaluation, design, and implementation of system enhancements, ensuring alignment with business priorities. Directs technical staff in preparing program specifications, testing, debugging, and documenting system modifications. Partners with business leaders to assess system needs and translate functional requirements into effective technology solutions. Coordinates with the infrastructure team to manage iSeries hardware performance, upgrades, and maintenance schedules. Oversees monitoring and resolution of EDI issues, ensuring accurate and timely data exchange with internal and external partners. Establishes communication processes for enhancement requests, project updates, and system status reporting. Defines and tracks IT value metrics, system performance, and enhancement ROI. Develops and manages budgets for system enhancements, application maintenance, and iSeries support activities. Guides and mentors team members, conducting performance evaluations and supporting professional development. Ensures data integrity, system security, and adherence to business continuity and backup protocols for iSeries environments. Evaluates emerging technologies and recommends solutions that enhance system functionality or streamline operations. Collaborates with all departments to ensure technology solutions effectively support business processes and strategic objectives. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience managing or supporting enterprise business systems (ERP, WMS, or equivalent) Minimum of 2+ years of hands‑on experience with IBM iSeries (AS/400) environments Experience leading system development, configuration, or integration efforts across multiple platforms Proven ability to lead and develop team members performing systems analysis, programming, or application support functions Strong understanding of IT governance, change control, and best practices Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage complex, cross‑functional projects Effective communicator who builds strong relationships with technical teams and business stakeholders PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to withstand prolonged periods sitting at a desk Frequent use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer Ability to occasionally stand/walk Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
