This role leads facilities operations and capital projects, overseeing building systems, utilities, grounds, and fleet services. This role also manages service providers and contracts, including negotiation, renewals, and ongoing performance oversight. The Facilities Manager partners with Safety and Security leaders to support emergency preparedness and compliance, and drives continuous improvement through planned investments and upgrades.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team ManagementLead and develop facilities team, including the Facilities Supervisor and Facilities Project Lead/Engineer.Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, and priorities for facilities operations and projects.Execute workforce and succession planning to ensure long-term capability and continuity.Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Demonstrate clear, confident leadership presence through effective communication across the organizationFacilities & Campus OperationsOwn the operation, reliability, and lifecycle management of campus buildings, utilities, grounds, vehicles, and facility-supported infrastructure.Establish standards and priorities for facilities operations and ensure effective execution through supervisory leadership.Partner with business leaders on space planning, workplace changes, and facility modifications.Provide stewardship of A-dec-owned and leased properties in alignment with long-range campus plans.Ensure facilities consistently support manufacturing, office, customer, and visitor needs.Capital Projects & Financial ManagementLead facility construction, renovation, and campus improvement projects from planning through completion.Define and manage project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, and risk to ensure successful delivery.Engage stakeholders early to gather requirements and maintain clear communication throughout project execution.Own facilities operating and capital budgets, including significant expense and capital portfolios.Develop and maintain multi-year infrastructure roadmaps for asset replacement, upgrades, and modernization (e.g., roofs, HVAC, utilities, PIT equipment, vehicles, and grounds assets).Drive facility cost control, lifecycle optimization, sustainability, and energy-efficiency initiatives.Manage and negotiate service agreements, leases, and construction contracts.Oversee vendor and contractor performance for facilities services and construction activities.Provide concise, executive-level updates on project progress, risks, and decisions.Safety, Security, & Emergency PreparednessOwn facilities-related emergency preparedness and infrastructure readiness for events such as power outages, utility failures, severe weather, or building emergencies.Partner with Safety and Security leaders to ensure facilities infrastructure supports emergency response, physical security, and safe operations.Support emergency drills, audits, and post-incident reviews from a facilities and infrastructure perspective.Ensure critical building systems and access points are maintained and ready to support emergency response.Compliance & Continuous ImprovementEnsure facilities operations comply with applicable building codes, fire/life safety requirements, environmental regulations, and internal standards.Partner with EHS and regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, and reviews related to facilities and infrastructure.Use asset condition, cost, and performance data to inform planning, capital prioritization, and continuous improvement.Identify and implement opportunities to improve reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability, and overall campus experience.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong leadership and organizational management skills, with the ability to lead through supervisors and project leaders.Broad knowledge of facilities infrastructure, construction practices, and building systems.Proven ability to manage complex initiatives involving scope, schedule, resources, risk, and financial constraints.Demonstrated ability to influence and align senior leaders across the organization through clear communication, sound judgment, and credibility.Demonstrated foresight and problem-solving ability to anticipate issues, evaluate options, and develop sound recommendations.Strong financial and business judgment related to capital planning, cost control, and vendor performance.Ability to respond to facility emergencies outside normal business hours as required.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, construction management, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.810 years of progressive experience in facilities, construction, infrastructure, or property management roles.Demonstrated experience managing capital and operating budgets.Proven experience leading facility construction, renovation, or infrastructure upgrade projects.Experience working in manufacturing or regulated environments preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and /or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
