Works with Patient Access points and hospital management to define goals and objectives, as well as staff priorities. Reviews project progress and recommends any changes to senior management. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.Job Requirements:Education and Work Experience:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: RequiredMaster's Degree: PreferredFive years' relevant experience: PreferredOne year's leadership experience: PreferredExperience with computer terminals: PreferredEssential Functions:Provides day-to-day technical leadership while performing escalated or complex duties. Creates and maintains department schedule, assisting with coverage for absences/vacations so no vital workstation goes uncovered. Ensures shifts are covered using regular, float and per-diem staff. Uses independent judgment requiring in-depth analysis of variable factors.Collaborates with management and top professionals/specialists in selection of methods, techniques and analytical approach. Provides day-to-day technical oversight to staff; may become actively involved to meet schedules and resolve problems.Coaches employees to correct processes both individually and during monthly area meetings. Educates staff on existing and updated protocols for hospital/clinic services. Provides statistics on registration errors to management to assure integrity of data and education of staff, as needed.Participates in the full process of hiring new personnel from candidate selection through the on-boarding process. Assists with reviews of new personnel and recommends where additional training is needed, or discharge, if warranted.
