The Manager of Imaging Services coordinates daily operations for the department, and develops and maintains policies, procedures, budgets, goals, and strategies while ensuring staffing levels and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Director with management of departmental operations and team atmosphere, maintaining day-to-day operations over various modalities.
  • Directs and oversees procedures, personnel, protocol development, quality control, and training programs.
  • Maintains timekeeping for staff and recruitment responsibilities, including job description evaluations, interviews, and orientation for new staff.
  • Accountable for financials, employee reviews, staff scheduling, and counsel and discipline.
  • Establishes and maintains an atmosphere of caring and support by directly utilizing the UPMC core values.
  • Accepts responsibility for the resolution of problems that arise.
  • Bachelor's Degree required. 
  • Completion of satisfactory formal training in a radiology-related program accredited by the ARRT or NMTCB, i.e. Radiology or Nuclear Medicine.
  • Must possess a current registry in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, MRI (ARRT or RDMS), or RVS. 
  • 5 years of experience in a radiology discipline with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity required.
  • Must attend continuing education programs and maintain an active registry status.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
     
  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) OR Registered Vascular Specialist
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
