JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the direction of the Director, Information Technology, the IT Operations Manager will oversee design, deployment and operation of all computing and telecom equipment and external IT services for the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary. Management – Hiring, annual reviews, corrective actions and day to day management of all members of the IT Infrastructure team as well as external contractors that work for the team. Resource Planning – Works with the Director – Information Technology to establish capital expense and human resource requirements for servers, storage, network, printers, phone systems, purchased software and support, desktop systems, etc... Architecture and Design – Working with Director – Information Technology to establish and implement the network, storage and server, internet architecture. The goal of the architecture plan is to maximize performance and reliability while maintaining appropriate security for all IT and manufacturing systems. Company Relationship – Establish working relationships with internal customers and determine computing, phone, printing requirements. Vendor Relationship – Establish working partnerships with IT hardware, software and telecom vendors. Strategy and Research – Research the latest technology and techniques, looking for opportunities to improve the organizations strategic advantage. Cost Management – Research vendors and solutions to keep hardware, software, support and services costs as low as possible while maintaining full complement of services required to run the business. Security – Maintain, improve and monitor cyber security. Work with training coordinator to implement user level cyber security training. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field from a four-year college or university (equivalent experience will be considered) and a minimum of five years progressive responsibility. Must have at least seven years’ experience working with the design, development, capacity planning and administration of network, compute, storage and telecommunication systems. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees to share information, solve problems, and instruct or train employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, work instructions, shop orders, work plans, and correspondence.
