Manager, Application Development (Core Banking)
Location: Broomfield, Colorado
Salary: $113,000 - $142,000 (DOE) + Negotiable sign-on and partial relocation bonuses
About the Role:
The Application Development Manager is a critical leadership position responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of solutions that enhance the Credit Union's core banking platform (Symitar) and other enterprise applications. This role aligns with the Credit Union's strategic plan and technology roadmap, focusing on optimizing operational efficiency through technology. The Manager leads a team of core developers, collaborating with business units and internal IT teams to deliver enterprise solutions that meet organizational needs. A strong software engineering discipline, expertise in Symitar PowerOn, and excellent problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of business solutions that leverage technology to improve operational efficiency.
- Manage a team of core developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Work closely with internal IT teams to ensure seamless integration of new and existing systems.
- Oversee the development lifecycle, adhering to software delivery best practices, including version control and testing.
- Provide support for both vendor-packaged and custom internal solutions, ensuring system stability and performance.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Credit Union's technology roadmap.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the financial industry.
- Manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and security standards.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience; B.S., Computer Science preferred.
- 6+ years of experience with financial institution technologies, including:
- Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU)
- MeridianLink
- Encompass
- Alkami
- COTS
- Image Center
- OpCon
- Experience in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience supporting core banking applications (Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen).
- Knowledge and experience with the IBM AIX operating system.
- Proficiency in SQL development for relational databases, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
