Manager Health Information ServicesUnder indirect supervision, the HIM manager manages the daily HIM operations to include personnel management, training and education, quality, productivity, report management, budget, problem-resolution, coordination of regulatory readiness and forms management, and assists HIM and hospital staff with HIM related follow-up, issues and questions. Actively moves forward from a paper to an electronic medical record (EMR) environment while collaborating with IT, physicians and others. Examines and re-engineers operations and procedures and develops, implements and monitors new strategies and procedures for HIM and associate/physician/patient satisfaction. Participates in short-term and long-term strategic planning.In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:High School Diploma/G.E.D. RequiredAssociates Degree or equivalent experience requiredBachelor's Degree preferred (RHIA)Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology requiredRegistered Health Information Administrator from American Health Management Association (RHIA/RHIT) required and maintained2 years of Health Information Management experience in acute care setting1 year of leadership/management experienceExperience with the electronic health record (EHR) and health information systems and health care applications requiredExperience with regulations and accreditation standards, knowledge of specific state and federal regulations and standards related to the management of health informationMust demonstrate proficiency in health care compliance, particularly HIPAA privacy and confidentiality laws, access and release of information.
