Job Summary The Manager of IT Operations & Risk is responsible for leading the infrastructure team, providing direction and guidance to the team, including System Administrators, DevOps Engineers, and Help Desk Technicians. This role ensures the stability, security, and performance of the company’s internal technology environment, including hardware, networking, and cloud services. Due to the need for a timely response to critical on‑site technical issues, this position requires employees to be able to report to the office on short notice. Candidates must be able to report to the NCS Credit building within approximately 20 minutes, when necessary. Essential Responsibilities Develop and implement IT policy and best practice guidelines for the department Coach, develop, and provide direction to infrastructure team members via one‑on‑one and departmental meetings Lead the Help Desk function to ensure employee technical issues are resolved promptly and that service level standards are met Participate in pager‑duty rotation to provide after‑hours support for critical system outages and urgent technological matters. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all company hardware, servers, and networking equipment Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols (including awareness training), backups, and disaster recovery plans to protect company data and ensure business continuity Oversee security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, and identity management Lead the preparation, coordination, and execution of SOC audits (such as SOC 2) and other regulatory assessments to ensure the organization meets industry security standards Manage relationships with third‑party vendors that support NCS systems Oversee the procurement and lifecycle of all company‑issued hardware and software licenses Prepare detailed project plans and meet key project milestones, workstreams, and activities Track and provide regular reports on project status to the project team and key stakeholders Other duties as assigned Competencies Strong ability to lead technical teams across infrastructure, support, and automation Expert‑level understanding of how hardware, software, and networking integrate to support business operations Ability to remain calm and provide clear direction during system outages or security incidents Ability to present technical infrastructure needs and risks clearly to management and non‑technical staff Strong commitment to quality Strong time management and organizational skills Strong communication, including writing, speaking and active listening Ability to use data and analytics to deliver on projects.
