Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Manager of Labor and Delivery (RN) for a top healthcare client in Corpus Christi, TX.
This leadership role oversees daily operations of a 19-bed Labor and Delivery unit, including 5 OBED rooms and 3 surgical suites. The Manager ensures safe, high-quality, patient-centered maternity care while supervising 80 FTEs and collaborating closely with the Director of Women’s Services to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations and clinical performance of the Labor and Delivery department.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance evaluation for nursing and support staff.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other clinical leaders to promote positive patient outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, quality standards, and evidence-based practices.
- Participate in budgeting, strategic planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as on-call leader for postpartum, antepartum, and labor/delivery units on a rotational basis.
- Foster a supportive, team-oriented environment focused on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last year) leadership experience in Labor & Delivery required
Certifications/Licenses
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or Compact State)
Skills or Competencies
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Expertise in obstetric nursing practices and perinatal care standards
