Manager Supplier Performance Management Apply
The Manager of Supplier Performance Management will oversee and guide a team responsible for managing and improving the performance of key aerospace suppliers. This leadership role focuses on executing strategic initiatives, refining processes, and ensuring supplier quality, delivery, and cost standards. While supporting the team with high-impact issues and critical suppliers, this role emphasizes coaching, strategy execution, and fostering supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary escalation point for critical supplier issues, intervening in complex situations to drive resolution
- Foster and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers, negotiating solutions to improve performance and ensure alignment with company goals
- Lead strategic supplier performance reviews, defining KPIs, analyzing data, and implementing corrective actions
- Oversee root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) processes within the team, ensuring effective problem-solving and sustained improvements
- Support new product introduction (NPI) efforts by assessing supplier readiness and capacity to meet quality and timeline expectations
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve high-impact supplier issues affecting production or delivery schedules
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by leading proactive monitoring, assessments, and development initiatives
- Ensure supplier compliance with industry standards, regulations (e.g., AS9100, FAA), and internal quality requirements through oversight of audit processes
- Drive supplier development projects to enhance their industrial maturity, capacity and capability
- Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies, applying them to supplier performance processes
- Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for technological advancements and cost savings
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supplier performance specialists, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and organizational strategy
- Implement and refine supplier performance management processes to improve overall supply chain efficiency and reliability
- Develop and execute strategies for supplier performance improvement, working closely with procurement, engineering, and quality teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or supply chain roles within the aerospace or defense industry, including leadership experience
- In-depth understanding of aerospace standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., AS9100, FAA).
- Proven problem-solving expertise, including root cause analysis and corrective action management
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Proficiency in ERP systems, data analysis tools, and supplier performance management systems
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Green Belt certification is a plus)
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, components, and manufacturing processes
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of leading supplier improvement initiatives
- APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification is a plus
Benefits
The starting pay range for this position is $110,700 to $124,600 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
