Managing Director, Quality Assurance Apply
Job Description
The Managing Director, Quality Assurance is a key member of the Product team reporting directly to the Global Vice President of Product. This person will oversee implementing, enhancing, and overseeing tools, processes & methodologies, and metrics to support the Product team’s relentless pursuit of product excellence. This role requires the person to lead a globally dispersed team, be influential, develop and drive quality methodology & process, and continuously grow team member skills to define and manage the overall quality agenda for Elixir’s product suite.
Under the general supervision of the Global VP, Product, the essential functions include:
- Build and supervise a local [or global] team of employees, including making recommendations related to the hiring, retention, termination, and advancement of employees; scheduling projects and monitoring employees’ progress; handling employees’ grievances; coaching employees to achieve their full potential via Elixir Success and Quarterly Coaching programs; and acting as a Security Designate
- Maintain any training or certification as required, including annual compliance and harassment prevention training or job-specific certifications
- Drive end-to-end software quality, while focusing on ensuring strong customer experiences and instilling quality as a core discipline into every aspect of the product development organization and the company as a whole
- Responsible for the overall testing strategy and tactics, including environments and tools with a focus on requirements management, test case management, test design, test automation, continuous integration, performance, and security
- Develop, track, report, and act upon metrics and KPIs that provide transparency and continuous improvement of product development effectiveness and product release readiness from a quality perspective
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives with defined benchmarks and measures that focus on product quality
- Ensure compliance with standards for reporting and tracking of defects and their resolution across the entire product suite
- Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to define acceptance criteria and validation of those criteria
- Providing subject matter expertise and level 4 support for production issues
- Liaison with the development team to ensure requirements and functionality are properly understood, and to troubleshoot issues
- Coordinate work across the QA team, including local, distributed and product line QA staff

- Security Designate responsibilities include: Security Designates serve as the primary security contact for their assigned business unit. They are responsible for processing reports of security incidents, data breaches, and policy violations submitted by direct reports within the business unit and for notifying the acting Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of reported incidents, breaches, and violations. Security Designates also coordinate with the Human Resources Department and CISO to impose sanctions on direct reports who violate Elixir’s Security and Compliance policies or applicable legal requirements (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). Security Designates monitor fulfillment of sanctions and notify the CISO when the terms of sanctions have been fulfilled. Additional responsibilities include processing complaints related to Elixir’s security and privacy program at the department level; submitting exception requests related to Elixir’s Security and Compliance policies to the CISO; and cooperating with investigations of security incidents, data breaches, and security and privacy violations. In carrying out responsibilities related to Elixir’s Security and Compliance program, Security Designates will utilize the appropriate forms available on the Security and Compliance site on SharePoint.
Competencies

- 8+ years managing a team
- Experience designing and building functional and integration tests using automated testing tools for APIs, CLIs and GUIs
- Experience with AWS or Azure DevOps and JIRA to facilitate SCRUM/Agile workflow
- Experience working with SaaS and traditional software products
- Experience with load and stress testing tools and methodologies Experience with implementing QA best practices within the CI/CD methodology
- Experience working with application security platforms such as Veracode and APISec

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on experience, skills, and work location. Candidates located near our Ojai, CA office may be considered at the higher end of the range.
