The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and executing a vision and strategy to raise a substantial amount of funds, with a focus on donors who have the capacity to give at a major level. This role involves close collaboration with Executive Directors, regional advisory board members, and other fundraisers to maximize giving and develop new donor strategies. The Managing Director will also be involved in development operations, including maintaining donor information and participating in organization-wide initiatives to support the case for giving. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years' of experience in a development and fundraising context, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious goals. The role requires a specialist in individual giving, capable of independently managing a donor portfolio and leading fundraising campaigns. Key qualifications include excellent relationship-building and management skills, a deep understanding of fundraising best practices, and the ability to navigate complex philanthropic landscapes. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled communicator, both in writing and verbally, and will be adept at leveraging local development trends to inform and adjust fundraising strategies.
