The main location is situated in Houthalen, while Le Vésuve, based in Zottegem, specializes in artisanal cones, biscuits, and accessories that contribute to an optimal ice cream experience.Both companies are part of Orkla Food Ingredients, which also includes Nic Group. Nic is a partnership of companies that supply high-quality (soft) ice cream ingredients and related products throughout Europe. Nic Belgium BV currently employs approximately 20 people.Position in the OrganizationThe Managing Director is ultimately responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial management of one production site and one logistics site. The role operates within an international holding structure and carries full accountability for performance, compliance, and food safety. Reporting LineReports to: CEO / Group ManagementDirectly manages: Operations Manager, Logistics Manager, Finance Manager, and (directly and indirectly) all employees at both sites. Purpose of the RoleTo ensure safe, high-quality, and compliant food production, combined with sustainable growth, operational excellence, and sound financial management. The Managing Director delivers business objectives within the framework of the holding strategy and applicable laws and regulations.Key Result Areas and Responsibilities Strategy & Organizational DevelopmentDevelop and implement strategy in line with holding direction and market developments.Initiate and lead change and improvement programs focused on quality, autonomous growth, and innovation.Ensure a robust organizational structure and an effective management team.Operational Management (Food Operations)Ultimate responsibility for production and logistics processes within a food environment.Safeguard performance in food safety, quality, delivery reliability, and efficiency.Promote continuous improvement (Operational Excellence / Lean).Food Safety, Quality & ComplianceFull accountability for food safety and quality systems (HACCP, BRC).Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations.Promote and embed a strong food safety & quality culture.Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)Overall responsibility for safety, health, and environmental performance at the production sites.Integrate EHS objectives into daily operations.Actively steer on prevention and safe working conditions.Finance & ControlFull P&L responsibility for both sites.Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and business plans.Authorize investments (CAPEX) within established frameworks. HR & LeadershipLead, coach, and develop managers and MT members.Foster a performance-driven and safe work culture.Ultimate responsibility for workforce planning and succession. Stakeholder & Supply Chain ManagementRepresent the organization towards the holding, customers, and suppliers.Maintain strategic relationships within the food industry and supply chain.Act as a connecting link between sites and the international organization.Education and ExperienceUniversity / Higher Professional Education (HBO+) level of working and thinking.Extensive experience in a senior executive role within the food industry.Proven experience with multi-site management.In-depth knowledge of food safety and relevant legislation.Experience within an international holding structure is an advantage.
