Summary

Operates and drives the Manipulator for production purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.

  • Ability to manipulate parts and tooling effectively
  • Basic understanding of forging process and procedures
  • Ability to follow directions given by the Blacksmith or Supervisor
  • Keeps track of serialization of parts
  • Maintains a safe and organized work area and displays concern for maintain equipment (manipulator, furnaces, etc.)
  • Train new employees to develop the knowledge and skills in the forging process.
  • Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures.
  • May assist Forge Helper as needed

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Minimum one year of experience and/or training
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid forklift certification

Must meet the requirements pertaining to Vision Acuity Testing under the Quality Assurance Manual.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demand

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk quickly, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear in a load and hot environment. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
