Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for job costing, inventory analysis, financial reporting, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will provide actionable insights that improve cost control, profitability, and operational efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site position offering competitive pay and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost manufacturing jobs including labor, material usage, and outside services
- Ensure inventory accuracy and analyze trends and variances
- Perform margin and cost variance analysis
- Coordinate cycle counts and investigate discrepancies
- Support month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations
- Compile reporting packages and distribute financial reports
- Prepare backlog, sales, margin, and bookings reporting
- Assist with forecasting and expense analysis
- Load financial data into corporate systems
- Improve processes and reporting automation (Power BI)
- Support internal/external audits and planning activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing and finance teams on ad hoc requests
- Supports team and organizational initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Two years of relevant experience preferred
- Cost accounting or manufacturing experience a plus
- Strong Excel skills; Power BI experience preferred
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
