Job Description

Manufacturing Associate I

Location: Walkersville, MD

Duration: 6-month contract

Pay Rate: $16.95/hr.

*The starting pay rate will be $16.95 and then will go up (15% differential) to $19.49 once starting the 3rd shift schedule*


Schedule

  • Initial training on 1st shift: Monday–Friday, 5 days/week, 8 hours/day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • After training: Support 3rd shift operations Monday night through Friday morning, 4 days/week, 10 hours/day
  • Individuals will be considered for conversion at a later date
  • Candidates will start on 1st shift for training; if they prove to be a good fit, they may be offered 3rd shift roles


Pre-Employment Requirement

  • Visual Acuity Test (eye exam) required prior to start


Position Overview

  • Support the finishing area, including screening product components and kit assembly
  • Prepare packing materials and supplies for finishing activities
  • Assist in reviewing paperwork and logbooks for the department


Quality Responsibility

  • Maintain quality systems and cGMP compliance for the business
  • Ensure all team members comply with processes, procedures, and instructions for all activities in which the team participates


Safety Responsibility

  • Comply with all pertinent safety policies, rules, and regulations
  • Ensure all team members follow safety rules and regulations


Job Scope

  • Work on problems of limited scope
  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
  • Primarily internal contact
  • Work in a fast-paced, safety-oriented team environment


Working Conditions

  • Majority of work performed in a laboratory environment
  • Scrubs, hairnet, and plant-dedicated shoes required in unclassified areas
  • Conditions may include:
  • Standing for long periods
  • Excessive noise
  • Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs)
  • Repetitive motion
  • Confined spaces
  • Some weekend and overtime work is mandatory based on business needs


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; AS/BS preferred
  • Preferred area of study: Science-related discipline
  • 0–3 years of experience; prior manufacturing experience preferred
  • Proven logic and decision-making abilities and critical thinking skills
