Manufacturing Associate I
Location: Walkersville, MD
Duration: 6-month contract
Pay Rate: $16.95/hr.
*The starting pay rate will be $16.95 and then will go up (15% differential) to $19.49 once starting the 3rd shift schedule*
Schedule
- Initial training on 1st shift: Monday–Friday, 5 days/week, 8 hours/day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
- After training: Support 3rd shift operations Monday night through Friday morning, 4 days/week, 10 hours/day
- Individuals will be considered for conversion at a later date
- Candidates will start on 1st shift for training; if they prove to be a good fit, they may be offered 3rd shift roles
Pre-Employment Requirement
- Visual Acuity Test (eye exam) required prior to start
Position Overview
- Support the finishing area, including screening product components and kit assembly
- Prepare packing materials and supplies for finishing activities
- Assist in reviewing paperwork and logbooks for the department
Quality Responsibility
- Maintain quality systems and cGMP compliance for the business
- Ensure all team members comply with processes, procedures, and instructions for all activities in which the team participates
Safety Responsibility
- Comply with all pertinent safety policies, rules, and regulations
- Ensure all team members follow safety rules and regulations
Job Scope
- Work on problems of limited scope
- Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
- Primarily internal contact
- Work in a fast-paced, safety-oriented team environment
Working Conditions
- Majority of work performed in a laboratory environment
- Scrubs, hairnet, and plant-dedicated shoes required in unclassified areas
- Conditions may include:
- Standing for long periods
- Excessive noise
- Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Repetitive motion
- Confined spaces
- Some weekend and overtime work is mandatory based on business needs
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; AS/BS preferred
- Preferred area of study: Science-related discipline
- 0–3 years of experience; prior manufacturing experience preferred
- Proven logic and decision-making abilities and critical thinking skills
