Marmon/Keystone is searching for an Automation Engineer II to join our Automation Team.
Under general direction, responsible for all phases of large-scale assigned process or manufacturing improvement projects, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Implements process improvements to meet quality standards, designs and conducts feasibility studies, and solves problems. Creates necessary documentation and aides in communication to personnel. May serve as a resource to other engineers and coordinate all work within the scope of assigned projects.

What We Seek
  • Lead or assist two or more simultaneous projects.
  • Own responsibility for technical project leadership as directed
  • Gain new knowledge of automation technology and solutions
  • In conjunction with senior staff, use engineering knowledge to architect automation solutions
  • Spearhead technology research to deliver state-of-the-art processes and design concepts
  • Work across multiple facilities with separate stakeholder teams and processes.
  • Work with project managers to set and manage goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Communicate project status to management
    • Build payback models and assist in writing capital requests
  • Use existing Marmon automation implementation process to guide your workflow
  • Update and improve Marmon processes as you learn
  • Attend trade shows and vendor visits to become a rounded industry expert on current state of the art technologies and implementation strategies
  • Hands-on prototyping of technologies in the Marmon automation lab as project require
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
  • Use automation software for PLC programming, HMI design, and SCADA systems to create and maintain complex automated processes.
  • Adhere to industry standards and regulations in all projects and ensure all automated systems are compliant.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates and addressing technical issues or queries.
  • Collaborate with the automation team on various projects to achieve operational goals and improve automation systems.
What You Bring
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an automation role.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA Systems, and HMI Design.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Networks like Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus, etc.
  • Experience with Industrial Automation Software like Siemens, Rockwell, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Understanding of Industrial Processes, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance Procedures.
  • Prior work experience in operations project management, automation project management, or similar areas including intern or co-op assignments desirable
  • Comfortable in ambiguous situations where requirements may be unclear
  • Comfortable in factory environments
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles
  • 25 - 30% travel or as business demands
  • Communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
